Therapy for Healthcare and Medical Professionals

What is “self care” when people’s lives are in your hands?

First, I want to commend you on reaching out for help. Even if you are always advocating for others, it is not always easy to take the steps toward helping oneself.

You came into this field to help people, but some days that feels impossible with the resources you have.

You’re understaffed, working long hours in a system that does not always listen to the frontline but, this is “what you signed up for” so you can’t complain. Does this sound familiar? You wanted to pursue healthcare because you are strong, smart and determined. You do not want to look like you “can’t handle” the work. However, one thing needs to be clear…

Experiencing burnout is not a sign of failing.

Healthcare burnout is a well known concern with some studies demonstrating over 50% of healthcare workers experiencing symptoms of burnout. However, when an issue becomes so common that the majority of people are feeling similarly, it becomes even more difficult to overcome as an individual.

From working in the hospital system myself, to later helping other healthcare professionals, I have several years of experience helping healthcare and medical professionals combat burnout and create a life with the work/ life balance they crave. Our work is tailored to your needs. Using expert skills including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness, we will explore stress in and outside of work.

I understand time constraints make it difficult to schedule. I offer flexible hours to work around your schedule as best I can. Many clients I commonly work with are nurses, physicians, residents, therapists and social workers.
